- Description
- Arts-informed methods have been able to demonstrate connectivity between knowledge domains, literacy forms, interpretations and relational pedagogies. Yet there continues a lively debate about the forms visual art education doctoral research should take. Challenging issues arise in this debate, including legitimacy issues, about the positioning of such doctorates in the light of new methodologies including the case for Artful Participatory Inquiry. This chapter considers the benefits and problematics of this inquiry perspective in the new digital, e-learning visual studio environment, and its legitimacy and transformative potential, identifying how this approach can construct spatial complexity, reveal relational pedagogies and demonstrate the relational and indeterminate nature of embodied learning through the means of the digital evidence trail.
